This is for Brian since I know he has some handling skill issues.
Bike Skills for the City is a 4 session bike safety course sponsored
by the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia and the Delaware
Valley Regional Planning Commission. Course will be held at Huntsman
Hall 38th and Walnut, Wednesday evenings 10/22, 10/29, 11/6 with an
on-road session on Saturday November 8. Cost for University City
Students is $25 and $40 for the General Public (minimum age 18).
Highlights of the Course:
*Bicycles and Traffic Law
*Your rights and responsibilities as a cyclist
*Handling yourself in traffic
*Preventing bike theft
*Local bike maps and trail resources
*Taking your bike on transit
*Common on-road repairs
Course fee includes snacks, beverages, bike helmet, patch kit, tube
and rear light. Free guarded bike parking hosted by Neighborhood Bike
Works

Dear Brian Trdina,
I apologize that you have taken offense at this blogger and that you are confused that this is a parody of you. I am parodying a guy with a name similiar to you Brian Trdina (maybe you are related) that is a general sociopath, he (ironically I guess) is a big advocate of the Constitution and its Amendments, specifically the First and Fourth Amendments.
I am sure that if you knew this other Trdina, you would understand.

as a matter of fact the only time i've hit the pavement in the last 5 years happened while riding with Brian, just Brian, nobody else. that was also the only time i've ever cracked a helmet. basically he didn't call out a turn. perhaps i should have asked which way we were going, so i can accept partial blame for finding myself sprawled across the middle of a busy road. still, it is interesting that with all the racing i've done, outside of some cat 4/5 clutzs, he is the only person who has managed to take me out.
personally i find that it is not his bike handling skills that place those riding with him in harm's way but in fact it is his stunted communication skills. he is perhaps the worst listener i've ever had the pleasure of being talked-at by.
simply calling out right or left for an approaching turn to Trdina is an invitation for disaster. turn directions need to be repeated at least three times and and should be accompanied by numerous exagerated hand and body gestures.

I like the time that Trdina tried mountain biking but hit some ice
going
over a bridge and dislocated his shoulder so badly that he can no
longer
take a t-shirt off without popping it out of socket and writhing around
in horrible pain.

Please post your favorite story of Trdina crashing.
My first memory was when he crashed his own teammate (Mike Miller) out of the Tuckahoe race down in Maryland. Miller, a former race winner at Tuckahoe, had the misfortune of riding too closely to Trdina when Trdina decided to take an asphalt nap. Ooops.
I had not formally met Trdina; however, his crashing prowess was already legendary.
This one is still my favorite.
